The main objective of these centres is to eliminate barriers and facilitate the integration of people with disabilities into the labour market, promoting their economic autonomy and their personal and professional development.

According to Spanish legislation, staff AT a Special Employment Centre should be composed, as far as possible, of people with disabilities, provided that this does not affect the normal functioning of the company. In any case, at least 70% of the staff must belong to this group.

In short, SECs play a key role in promoting equal opportunities and the inclusion of people with disabilities in the labour market.
